Katy Blackwood is a music photographer based in the north of England. She documents the music scene in the UK, and works with bands, labels and publications in the north and around the country.
Katy’s photography is sharp and professional, working everywhere from social media to large print formats. She works in colour (unless you prefer black-and-white) and has public liability insurance.
She believes that photography plays an important part in promoting and documenting any artist, new or established. Inspired by the 70s and 80s music scene, when bands often had a photographer with them regularly, she’s loves to intimately cover and immortalise the bands she works with.
Her work has been published in top newspapers and magazines and used by major artists on social media. An experienced live music photographer, recently she has moved into portraits, backstage and candid photography, and documenting tours.
Katy is also, since the beginning of 2017, the editor of FEISTY. She’s also a member of The Photo Ladies, a worldwide collective of female music photographers, and a competent writer and journalist.
Katy is always keen to work with new bands and labels. If you’re interested, please get in touch!
